In a nutshell:
I have a soft spot for lengthy road-trips, sipping champagne, Kmart finds, & love a boogie on the D-floor. On the flip side, spiders give me the shivers, paid parking annoys me and lets not get started on my weird foot phobia. Kindly spare me from any odd foot-related content on social media - my friends have already taken that role too seriously.
Behind the why:
Stepping into the world of, let’s face it, love, you might be surprised to know that I'm not your run-of-the-mill hopeless romantic, swept-off-my-feet, smitten kitten type.
For me, it's not all about the over-the-top gestures; it's about the story, the adventure, the ride through the not-so-perfect and the spot-on moments.
Where it all started:
After the classic European trip (which turned into a two-year stint at a hostel in Budapest - long story, we won’t go there) I discovered my knack for soaking up other people’s tales. You know, the hows, wheres, whens - the whole picture. Little did I know this interest was paving the path to becoming a Celebrant. Meeting folks, listening to their journeys - that’s where the magic happens.
Fast forward a few years, and my adventure into the world of love stories kicked off when I saw my childhood friend tie the knot, thanks to this awesome Celebrant. Honestly, I thought it was the Grooms long-lost mate. Turns out, they crossed paths at a wedding expo, grabbed a schooner at the local joint, shared a bunch of laughs, and Boom! He knew their love story like it was his own secret brew of Tea… (see what I did there?)
I realised how important a good celebrant was and the idea of delivering a ceremony that is filled with real stories and genuine giggles - it truly excited me! So, I welcomed that big ol’ “why not?” And the rest? Well, that’s best shared over a cold one, a glass of vino, a cup of joe, or yep, you guessed it, a cosy cup of Tea.
